scrap-6

We’re all prepared for the Party Season, are you?

The festive season is upon us and party season is here, and your hair will need all the help it can get to look gorgeous day after day through all the festivities and not cause hair damage.

We would love to help you feel the ‘Belle of the Ball’ with a top to toe make-over from our talented team of stylists and therapists, but first a few tips!

Don’t just stick to the same old party look this year, when we can give you the confidence to try  something new. Get ready to look and feel fabulous…

Beauty & Nail tips for the party season…

1.  Skin Care

Use a facial exfoliater bi-weekly to get dead skin of dead skin, then use a cream or milk cleanser to wash your face. Creams are less drying than gels. Makeup will look better on a clean, smooth canvass.

2.  Eye Hydration

Hydrate your under-eye area with an eye cream to prevent puffiness and bags.

3.  Make the manicure last longer

To make your manicure last, apply a thin layer of clear every two days. Pay particular attention to the free edge at the top of your nails, where chips usually happen, and apply extra clear polish there.

Hair styling tips for party season…

1.  Easy Hair-Up

A stylish ‘hair-up’ never goes out of fashion and the key to pulling it off successfully lies solely in the lift from the root.

Section off the top layer of your hair (the halo section) and clamp a mini crimper down on the layer of hair underneath. Repeat all the way around your head staying close to the root.

Next release the top layer so that it falls on top, hiding your crimped sections. The bounce created by your crimped roots will give you envious volume and create the appearance of thicker locks.

Finally sweep your hair back into a bun or ponytail using a smoothing paddle brush, remembering to leave a few lose strands at the front to frame your face.

2.  Curly Hair

In recent years hair trends have been moving towards a more low maintenance wavy style, shaving minutes off our morning routine and making our straighteners almost redundant.

2014 is officially the year to ditch the hair irons because curly hair is making a comeback. If you are one of the lucky few blessed with tumbling curls, embrace them with Amargan Ultimate Curl available in the salon.

3.  Vintage Wave

This is an amazing look for a special occasion. Make sure your hair is dry and coat with Joico K-PAK protective hairspray. Brush hair towards your face, securing with a wave clip. Then, brush hair back and secure with another wave clip further down.

Repeat this until you reach the bottom of your hair. Blast with the hairdryer until completely dry again – this will set the style. Allow to your hair to cool and remove the clips to reveal stunning waves.

Hair care tips for the party season….

The party season is not without it’s troubles though and it takes a lot out of your hair with day after day styling, so we thought maybe a few tips on how to keep your hair healthy this party season would help!

  • Try not to super style your hair every day, use put-ups to hide post party hair the next day!
  • Treat your hair – indulge in a really good hair mask and use it a few times during the week before and after the big party evenings.
  • Go for a hair cut! Getting the dry, over styled split ends taken off will ensure your hair feels in top condition.
  • Eat right, occasionally dry hair is naturally produced (along with dry skin) but this is exacerbated by environment and external usage of the wrong products and processing. Sometimes this can be helped internally by eating oily foods: salmon, sardines, mackerel, and by eating food rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9 helps. However, this takes time, so a moisturising conditioner and styling aid would give quicker results. A deep penetrating treatment used on a weekly basis would help considerably over the party season.

If you like help or advice from any of our stylists or therapists, please book now and we’ll be more than happy to help make you feel extra special this festival party season.
